I Love Music, Do You?
How do you feel when your favorite song comes on? Just one song can make you feel like flying or crying. I love beats, harmony and melody. I have a treble clef tattooed on my wrist. Simply put, I love music.
It’s a universal language that almost everyone understands. Music can encourage and change lives.
The song “Stupid girls” by Pink helped me realize that I don’t have a be a skinny or an airhead to be liked. “Bootylicious” by Destiny’s Child showed me how to embrace my body for what it is. “Make it through the rain” by Mariah Carey showed me how happy and strong I can be if I push myself, and despite the haters, I can do whatever I put my mind to. Music has evolved and grown with me. From doing the “bankhead bounce” in backyard, to doing the “stanky leg” at club Sugar with my friends.
Without music, there would be no radio stations, record players, tape, CD, or MP3 players, iPods, BET, MTV, VH1, no American Idol, no clubs or dances. Music has broken my relationships with people and brought me back together with others.
For me, entertainment is more than just having a good time and making money. Real artists, producers, rappers, singers, and entertainers do it for the love of music, not love of money. As much as money is important, it isn’t everything. I love music.
Do you?
